We began with one question: How do we define “home”? As Koreans living abroad, both as immigrants and as foreigners, we shared a similar experience. Moving to a new country at a young age shaped how we see the world and made us think about what “home” means beyond a physical place. That shared background became the starting point of our project and led us to explore the emotional and visual journey of relocation.

The animation follows a sequence many people recognize when they move far from where they grew up. It starts at an airport with luggage, moves to an airplane window that reveals both Toronto and Los Angeles, and then arrives in a new space. Small symbolic moments, like unlocking a door and seeing a desktop welcome sign, show the process of adapting, settling in, and building a new sense of belonging.

Each of us tried to express a personal definition of home. We realized that wherever we live, home is something we carry with us. It is a place we still have the key to, and a place that can welcome us back.
