A visual identity for the Denver Art Museum exhibition built around the quiet imperfection of Korean moon jars. Each vessel is formed in two halves and fired as one, a process that causes a subtle sag making every piece irreducibly its own. The key visual places the jar at the center, lit by shifting lunar silhouettes that move across its surface and extend into a modular graphic system across print and digital materials. Typography draws from traditional Korean serif letterforms and hanji paper texture runs beneath the identity, grounding the minimalist design in the material world of the vessels themselves.




Print & Signage


Posters, billboards, and promotional flags carry the exhibition's key visual across the city. Each poster in the series features a moon jar at its center, its surface filled with a distinct lunar shape that holds the exhibition information within it. Different jars, different lights, each one unique in form the way the vessels themselves are. The filled moon shapes give every piece in the series its own presence while keeping the system coherent.





Motion


The poster and billboard come to life through a single, slow transition: the lunar silhouette on the moon jar shifts from a thin crescent to a full moon, tracing the same cycle the exhibition is named for. The layout stays unchanged, letting the movement carry the concept rather than the composition. Still on the surface, alive underneath.





Merchandise


The identity extends into the physical objects of the exhibition experience. Staff lanyards and entry tickets carry the key visual into the everyday workings of the space, while a range of museum goods including magnets, plates, and stickers bring the moon jars home with visitors. Each piece holds the same lunar silhouettes and visual language established across the system, making every object a quiet continuation of the exhibition itself.
